I grunngjevinga heidrar juryen Nordic Mining for å ha vist mot og langsiktig ansvar:

Engebøprosjektet markerer starten på ei ny tid for norsk mineralnæring. Prisen er ei viktig anerkjenning av arbeidet som er lagt ned for å bygge ei moderne og berekraftig gruveverksemd, med tryggleik, miljø og lokalt samarbeid som fundament.

– Dette er ei stor ære for oss, og eit bevis på at vi har gjort ting på rette måten. Vi har hatt trua, stått i motvind og halde fast på prinsippa våre om openheit og ansvar. Denne prisen tilhøyrer heile laget, seier Finn Ivar Marum, CEO i Nordic Mining.
